On Saturday April 26th, John Cole , a member of the American Legion Riders , was attempting to take a curve coming off of 220 onto 15 north when a gust of wind forced him upright and out of his apex and into the guardrails. John is in Geisinger recovering from multiple surgeries on his arm. Initially they thought his arm would need to be removed, but after consulting with surgeons who rebuilt Alix, it seems that John will keep his arm. Members of the Knight Crew will be visiting John to wish him a speedy recovery and to let him know we are there for a biker brother. Please keep John in your prayers.

I just wanted to take a moment to speak about safety since we will be on the roads again very soon. Unfortunately for some of us we live in a climate where we have to put our scooters away for the winter and wait til spring to get them out again. As with just about anything we do in life, if we don't do it consistently, our skills deplete in that area. Remember when you get back out there again that your reflexes may not be as sharp as they were at the end of last riding season. Another thing is that "cagers" may not be used to seeing bikes on the road yet. Please watch them carefully, especially the ones with cell phones attached to their heads. Be Safe out there! and lets have a great riding season!

As the winter season approaches its end and the temps creep upward, we all start getting the itch to get out on our bikes. Last year was a horrible year for accidents in our area. We lost some good people and some were injured but have recovered to be able to ride this season. Lets all think "safety first" this summer. Not only do we need to be aware of what we are doing while riding, but we need to be aware of what the cagers are doing. In an age of motorists playing with cell phones, vehicle DVD players , computers and other devices while attempting to operate a vehicle at the same time, their attention may not be on the road when we encounter them. We need to be cautious at intersections, be as visible as possible, and ride sensibly. I know its a personal choice when it comes to helmets, but from experience, I can tell you that Doctors are good at fixing broken bones but still are not able to put your brain back in your skull and make it work. Personally, with the way some idiots drive their cars, I want something protecting my head. Another thing to be cautious of is your insurance. Do you have underinsured motorist (you coverage) on your policy. If you get run over by a dirtbag with crappy insurance, you will wish you had it. I am looking forward to a fun and accident free summer with the brothers and sisters in our club.

My sincere THANK YOU again to all of the Brothers and Sisters that helped with the modification and construction of the wheelchair ramp for Cody Harman. A special THANK YOU to Brother Terry H. for providing the largest piece of the ramp and to those that donated the rest of the materials for completion. Cody's guardian, Marybeth, Bayada Nurses, including my wife and Cody's nurse Mel, were overwhelmed by the large turnout of members, along with the materials and time that was volunteered. It was a very warm and satisfying feeling to see the completed ramp being used by Cody. For reasons like this, I am very proud of the Knight Crew.

Just to let the club know! "Babygirl" came through her surgery just fine. She was discharged today (at the relief of the hospital staff) and her throttle arm is as good as new! she will be down for a short time to recover and should be back to 100% just in time for riding when the warm weather starts to roll in again.

Christmas party was great. I had a wonderful time socializing with the "Brothers & Sisters" and the family members. Thanks to Jack for saying grace and remembering Barry in the prayer. I don't even know where to begin or how to tell everyone how much everything done for me has impacted my life. I survived when I shouldn't have and have been truly blessed for some reason. My 170 plus broken bones are still healing but really fast and I can already do things I didn't imagine I would be able to for at least another year. I have to tell you all of the support and love thrown my way has made it impossible for me to ever imagine quitting and I am blessed to have all of you out there supporting me. Hope everyone is doing well. I Went on a ride today where about 500 motorcycles were escorting a Memorial containing fallen soldiers names that is being place at a local campus. It was a great feeling to ride with that many vets and to see every one waving from the side of the road as we passed. I would like to take a moment of the officers time if I may. You all know that I have been a volunteer firefighter for two dozen years. I have had the opportunity to make a difference in small ways (pun intended) for many people in our county. I take great pleasure in being a full patcher' because everyone knows that I am a part of one of the best groups known to man when I wear MY colors which were given to me the night before the B. I just wish that we could of met and rode for different reasons than what we did. I support you and the crew and all you do. I had the honor of attending the "Barry McCarty Memorial Run" yesterday in Williamsport PA hosted by the Knight Crew MC.

I want to thank Knight Crew MC Sgt At Arms Blaze for inviting the IRON CREW MC to this event.
Monk - it was an honor to finally meet you and many of your men in person!
The Run was extremely well planned and I thoroughly enjoyed myself. The hard work that went into the planning of this event was well evident.

Once again, I am sincerely sorry for your loss.
Also, thank you so much for the plaque you presented me for the "Longest Distance Traveled" - 258 miles.
I hit some seriously heavy weather on the return trip and a 1 hour delay crossing the George Washington Bridge, but it was all worth it for a honorable cause hosted by a righteous organization.

To the members and families of the Knight Crew MC;
please accept my invitation to visit us here in Suffolk County, Long Island. We don't have a clubhouse, but my home is always open to honorable members of the law enforcement community.

I hope everyone is having a safe & happy Labor Day. I want to thank all of the members of the Knight Crew MC for the tremendous dedication, compassion and support you have demonstrated over the past several months in preparing for this event.

This has been a very difficult time for all of us, as a Club, as well as personally for many of us that were on that ride the night Barry was lost and Cosmo was injured. I believe that everything happens for a reason and although none of us know what the Grand Plan is, something good eventually will come from it.

One thing that I do know is that this is truly a test of "Brotherhood". It is one thing to call each other "Brother". It is quite another be one. Being there for each other and those that need us in tragedies such as this is the cement of Brotherhood. Personally I view this tragedy as a test of the true integrity of that cement. This tragedy is after all what this Club is about.

Please continue to keep Barry's Family and Friends in your thoughts and prayers as they struggle to cope with his tragic loss. It was fitting and proper to rename this annual event in his honor to ensure that his efforts are always remembered and remind four-wheel operators that we share the roadways also.

I am truly honored to be associated with all of you and proud to be a member of the Knight Crew MC Brotherhood. I look forward to seeing everyone at the Ride next Saturday.

To all my brothers in the Knight Crew MC, thank you for everything you have done for me. The lord teaches us about brotherly love, and never in my life have I ever seen it run so deep as it does through out our club and the clubs that Barry was associated with. Barry was the epitome of brotherly love. Although my injuries will heal, and my bones will mend, I will probably carry the image of the crash for the rest of my life. This is more painful than my broken bones. My heart goes out to the family and friends of Barry. A great man was taken from us that day and the loss will affect us all. Hopefully all our clubs can work together to honor Barry and carry on his legacy. Even though we are separated by the colors we wear, we are all the same beneath those colors. Let us continue to be there for one another and for those in need regardless of what club we are associated with. This is what Barry did and I am sure that is what he would have wanted. It is with deep sadness that I am making this post. As you all know we have been busy planning and organizing the Benefit Run for US Marshall Alix Fils-Aime, who was critically injured in a motorcycle crash in May.

On Wednesday evening, July 18th 2007, several club members, club friends and myself, were plotting the run for the benefit ride, checking the proposed route for timing, roadway condition and other safety factors.

While traveling the last leg of the proposed run, a motorist in a Chevrolet Blazer traveling in the opposite direction, recklessly turned left, directly through the pack, into the path of our dear friends and brothers, Barry McCarty and Jeff "Cosmo" Katlenbach. Barry was killed instantly and Cosmo was seriously injured.

Barry McCarty was a kind and gentle soul who lived to ride and help others in need. He could be seen daily throughout the Susquehanna Valley, riding his Harley on a mission to help any Biker in need. Barry had a warm, friendly smile and was a man that you instantly liked the moment that you met him. At our last ride meeting on July 15th, Barry gave me an incredible list of donated items he had already collected for the September Ride. When I commented to him how incredible it was, his response was "He [Alix] is a Brother Biker in need". This statement was the core of Barry's existence , always thinking of others before himself. Barry was Loved, Admired and Respected by all who knew him. We will never understand why the Lord chose to call him home, but it is very clear why he was placed on earth. He was truly an angel among us.

Barry was a member of the Bald Eagle Renegades, the Horsepower HOG Chapter, Endless Mountains HOG Chapter, Patriot Guard Riders and an Honorary Member of the Knight Crew Law Enforcement MC.

Cosmo is recovering from his first round of surgery and faces another, but is expected to recover physically. The emotional wounds from Barry's loss however will never heal.

The Knight Crew Law Enforcement MC sends our deepest sympathy and respect to Barry's Family and hundreds of Friends including the Bald Eagle Renegades, the Horsepower HOG Chapter, Endless Mountains HOG Chapter and staff of Horsepower Harley Davidson. Please keep all of them in your prayers.

Unfortunately, no matter how safe we try to be on the roadways, the senseless, reckless disregard some motorists have for Motorcyclists will continue. But, we as riders will continue to do our part, riding safe and looking out for each other. Always take comfort knowing that Barry's spirit will be riding right beside you. It is up to all of us to continue his efforts in his memory.

We made it back from the Southern expedition on Sunday night. Welcome to the now official SC Chapter. It was great meeting with you guys and seeing that you will have a tight-knit brotherhood like we have hear. I was glad to hear that you have other bikers already interested in the club and that you already have charity events planned. That's what we are all about.

What an incredible ride! Besides the scenery along the road, especially the Blue Ridge Mountains, so many people were extremely friendly and would go out of their way to talk to us when they found we were traveling from so far away. Carolina H-D was a cool dealership, with being the second largest on the east coast, a great staff, a custom bike shop and a huge amount of accessories.

I'm already looking forward to future rides through the area.

Well, we returned from our Southern Tour to meet the South Carolina Crew Brothers last night. It was a great ride through 5 states and we enjoyed meeting and riding with the SC Crew! They are righteous and dedicated professionals and we are very happy to welcome them to the Knight Crew MC Brotherhood!

Everyone we met along the road was friendly and helpful and extended to us heaping amounts southern hospitality. A special thank you goes out to the staff at Carolina Harley-Davidson in Gastonia NC, for welcoming us and making us feel at home. If you ever pass through the Charlotte NC area, make sure you stop by this incredible dealership.

Once again; welcome South Carolina to the Knight Crew MC! We are honored to have you Brothers in the KC family.

The Knight Crew MC is a Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club made up of Sworn Federal, State & Local Officers who ride American made Iron. (Harley's, Customs, Ect.) We are a very tight group who ride often and talk daily with our members and their families. We are about Brotherhood, Family and Friendship. Most of our members have belonged to other LEMC's for many years, but never felt the close bond that we have fostered in this Club and have pledged to maintain. We are more interested in the quality and professionalism of our members rather than the number of members. To that end, our members must start as Guests, be sponsored as Prospects and finally, they may become Full Patch members after the membership has gotten to know the Prospective Member and formed a bond. We support all Law abiding Motorcycle Clubs and are willing to assist wherever help is needed to support a worthy cause. As a Club our Sanctioned functions are to provide support to injured or fallen Law Enforcement Personnel and their families.

As most of you know, Alex is still in critical condition. Although he is improving, the injuries will require extensive multiple surgeries over many months and then rehabilitation for many months following the surgeries. Doctors have said that it may take years to fully recover. Financial support for the family came quickly from peers, friends, and others who knew him. This aided the family in having hotel rooms and food while they were staying in Danville to be close to Alex. Eventually the money will run out and long term needs will have to be met. It is my hope to pull together as many law enforcement bike clubs along with many businesses to help support a poker run to benefit Alex, his fiancée, and his little girl. I am currently reaching out to others, and coordinating with Monk to try and pull our resources together to make this happen. It will take time to put this together and anyone with ideas or anyone willing to help out, please contact Monk on this website.

A big shout out to all my brothers in blue. I want to Welcome Kick and Johnny to one of the best LE MC's in the nation. This club is more than a just a few guys who get together for a ride. We are a brotherhood with members who are there for each other in all circumstances. I have a very personal connection to this club due to a miserable divorce and moving to a city where I had no close friends. This club gave me a feeling of family and a new positive outlook on life. When I am not riding, I keep my colors on a hanger in my house where I can see them each day to remind me that I have brothers close by. A big thanks to the club officers for making me a full patch member!
